SchoolMessenger App Log In from PowerSchool

Important: Only those features that you have been granted access to will display. Additionally, features in this section of the help manual refer to integration with another product.

Once SchoolMessenger app integration is configured, the SchoolMessenger app link appears in the PowerSchool Student or Parent portal. Using the link launches the SchoolMessenger app from within PowerSchool while keeping your PowerSchool session active, allowing you to work in both applications simultaneously.

This topic for teachers and parents who would like to learn more about logging into the SchoolMessenger app using their Powerschool account.

Launching the SchoolMessenger App

Important: The SchoolMessenger app link only appears if the plug in has been installed and enabled at the system, district, and school level, and you are signed in as a student or guardian.

1.      Sign in to the PowerSchool Student and Parent Portal.

2.      On the start page, click SchoolMessenger in the Navigation menu. The SchoolMessenger app launches their landing page in another window (or tab depending on your browser settings).

Note: If you are not actively working in the PowerSchool Student and Parent portal, your session may time out. If so, you need to sign in again.

3.      When you are finished working in the SchoolMessenger app, be sure to log out of it. A confirmation page appears indicating you have been successfully logged out of the SchoolMessenger app.

4.      Do one of the following:

·        If you are finished working in the PowerSchool Student and Parent portal, click Sign Out of PowerSchool to sign out of the PowerSchool Student and Parent portal.

·        If you would like to continue working in the PowerSchool Student and Parent portal, click Return to PowerSchool. The start page appears.
