What is a Push Notification?

Push notifications are messages that will appear as notifications on devices with your custom mobile app. They're sent to specific categories so that only users who have subscribed to the category will receive the notification. For example, if your app has a set of categories corresponding to specific schools, users who have subscribed to content for a specific school will also receive push notifications for that school.

To send push notifications, each category from your app must be mapped to a related RSS Feed. Then whenever you post to the RSS Feed, your post will also be sent as a push notification to all of the app categories linked to the feed.
